Templates

Clover provides pre-made templates for both Documents and Surfaces as well as the ability to create custom templates. Templates provide a starting point for certain activities or content types so you don't have to construct the content yourself. Simply create a new page and start adding content.

Some of the pre-made templates offered by Clover:

  • One on One
  • Brainstorm
  • Cornell Notes
  • Crazy Eights
  • Eisenhower Box
  • Gantt Chart
  • Lean Startup Canvas
  • Meeting Notes
  • Mind Map
  • Timeline

Custom templates

In addition to Clover's pre-made templates, you can create your own templates. Custom templates can be used just like pre-made templates, but can also be used to insert snippets to add content to existing pages. They're perfect for recurring meetings, daily planning, reusable sketches on Surfaces, or just recalling useful snippets.

Creating custom templates

There are a few different ways to create custom templates.

  • Using the + New button in the left sidebar, click either New Document Template or New Surface Template.
  • Within a Document, highlight the blocks you want to use as a template then click the button in the Edit Bar. Then click the New Document Template… option.
  • Within Surfaces, select the blocks you want to use as a template then click the button in the Edit Bar. Then click the New Surface Template… option.

Inserting template snippets

In addition to using custom templates to create entirely new pages, you can also insert snippets into existing pages.

  • On Documents use the Slash Inserter by typing / and search for the template you want to insert as a snippet.
  • On Surfaces click on the Block Inserter + and search for the template you want to insert as a snippet.
